His birthday is still a month away, but I decided to go ahead and do Z's birthday pictures before time got away from me. He's also starting 1st grade this year, so I decided to do a school theme.

It took us 3 or 4 cancelled times before I actually got the chance to take him. He was so disappointed each time. I don't know if he likes taking pictures or if he just likes alone time with mom. But I'm not going to complain about birthday parties & certainly not going to complain about the rain.
He had a lot of fun with balancing the book on his head. I made him a slideshow of the pictures and he smiled real big when he saw this one.
This is one of his 6 year old pictures from last year - again school-themed - his birthday just falls at the right time of year. Look at those perfect baby teeth!! Better start saving up for orthodontists.
I borrowed the school desk from a friend. I love it! He's the one that decided to write his name using 2 colors. Blue and green. Those are my favorites, too.
At ALMOST seven, Z is . . .
- reading level 1 books
- playing level C piano books (only I will remember what that means)
- loves anything superhero
- loves Star Wars, though he's never seen it
- can tie his own shoes
- wears a lot of khaki b/c he knows it matches just about everything
- loves his new Bible story reader books
- plays "Oh When the Saints" on the piano super fast and daily
So I loved this Back to School picture idea so much, I decided to offer mini-session photo shoots with this theme. I've been wanting to do a prop themed mini-session, but couldn't think of anything gender neutral until this. Very excited to try it out. See more info here.

He looks so big here!! I would be interested in the bible readers. What company makes them?
Heather, the readers are from the "I Can Read" series. We got them at Sam's, but they have them on Amazon, too.
He's so adorable. I have all the Star Wars Movies on DVD. I'll watch them with him .. when you come for a visit.
I think this one has a smile even when he's asleep. He reminds me of my dad which is a very nice thing.
