I know this is jumping ahead in life since I haven't blogged in over a year, but here we go...
So Chris got promoted in his job to Lubbock and after a long summer of being apart, packing, and house hunting, 2 weeks ago, we closed on our new home in Lubbock. I was a little disappointed that it didn't meet a lot of things on my wish list, but now that we are in it, I think we're going to love it. It's much bigger than our old house, and I think will work well for our family. Today, I finished unpacking my first room, the schoolroom. It's not decorated or completely organized, but it is currently the only room without any boxes in it.
Here's our foyer/front door. This is the 3rd place that my bench has sat. I think I'm leaving it here, though. You notice my purple front door? I can name about 3 people who'd really like that. You know who you are...
Around the corner to the bench is our schoolroom. I think it's intended for a formal living area - do people still do that? I imagine it back in the 60's with formal furniture and people sitting around smoking and drinking their tea.
I know these are really nice curtains drapes, but they are so old. I think it'd be expensive to replace them. I may just have to learn to love them.
Ben said, "Take a picture of me thinking."
Eventually, I'd like to paint all the bookcases black and build another desk like the big boys for the little ones...eventually.
The rooms in the house are already painted neutral, so I can take my time painting. And they left a few nails in the walls, so I've just hung my stuff up on the existing nails.
I think this room will work great for newborn shoots, too. I'm excited about that! I should put something in the Lubbock water.
You like that ceiling fan? ;)
My one lonely decoration in the foyer...

It looks so good!! I love the entry, and the floor!!
I have been to visit now and it is awesome. I was very surprised at how nice it is because she really was not that enthusiastic about it when they bought it. The storage alone puts it way over the top!
