Z's Party

I know, my dearest blog, I've neglected you. I really have been blogging. I somehow got in charge of blogging for our homeschool co-op (in blog list) and then I've added a bunch of post to my photo blog. But my personal blog, you have fallen into the bottom of my priority list. But here I am, now. A post about a birthday party that happen over a month ago. Better late than never though.

Z asked for a transformer birthday party. Something I know LITTLE about. I've never even seen any of the movies (not that he has - but he plays with the toys way more than I do). It was in the mist of JBF, school, and photo shoots, but I did manage to plan a little party for him.

This is the invitation I made. I totally scraplifted it, but that's what you do when you're on a time crunch.

My food table complete with silly labels on the popcorn and chex mix. I also made paper gears to hang from the ceiling.
When the kids came in, I had foam shapes for them to glue to paper to "build a robot". It kept them happy while we waited for everyone to arrive. For games, we played transformer match up - like pin the tail on the donkey, but they matched transformers to their silhouettes with a blindfold on. I don't know why we didn't get any pictures of that.

This balloon games was originally going to be completely different and outdoors, but the day before it rained and rained and rained and it was MUDDY outside. So we had to come up with quick indoor modification. We had a red and blue team. They raced to see who could get all their balloons popped the fastest. Light-weight needed a little help.
Oh yes. The cake. Wouldn't be one of my parties unless I spent way too much time making a cake. The kids have a gear game that worked great as a cookie cutter for the gear shapes on the top.

My parents got Z a bike with NO training wheels. It's sad, but we've only taken him out one time to try it out. It's impossible for me to take all the them by myself and be of any help to Z, so we just have to wait for a time that Chris can join us. Z did pretty well that one time. Hasn't totally gotten it down though.
Those Star Wars sheets will hopefully be featured in a new post here in the next month or two. *wink wink*

For Z's big gift, we got him this little car. I actually got it free from all the pampers points I've been saving from the last 7 years I've been changing diapers. (I've gotten other stuff, too, so not ALL the points went to this). It's like $40 - $50 on Amazon, so yeah Pampers! The kids LOVE it!! They have played on it literally everyday since his birthday. You move the steering wheel back and forth and it makes it go. It's really fun (yes, I tried it). Like is shirt? Yep, I'm seeing a theme here.

I know nothing about Transformers either! The other day Jaxon was holding up the "Transformers" toothpaste, and I called it Star Wars. LOL!! Had to look at the price on the shelf to see it was Transformers. I have a lot to learn!!

Cool birthday. My kids don't get parties. I'm too lazy.
