Sea World

We just got back from the most fabulous trip. Heather, Melissa, my friend Kristin from Corpus, and I with all our kiddos met in San Antonio for a pre-school field trip. There were 8 kids and a baby between us all and the oldest was 7 yrs. We first went to the Children's Museum and it was the coolest. Almost a social science museum with child-size dentist office, airplane, bank, and the coolest was the grocery store complete with aisles of play food, grocery carts, and even a play check-out counter. It would have been my dream when I was a little girl. It was three floors full of pretend. We had pizza at Chuck E. Cheese, which is always fun, and then it was back to the hotel by 8:30. Kristin and I shared a room, which was actually more like a small one bedroom apartment. We got the kids to sleep in the living room on a pull out couch by 10pm, then stayed up until 1am talking in the the bedroom. It was so nice to catch up. I don't know how she feels about me, but I think I'll always see her as my best friend. The next morning, we were off to Sea World. It wasn't the usually Sea World experience. It was closed to the public, but open to pre-school - 2nd grade groups. More geared towards education. Mostly schools, but our little group counted. Only $4 a ticket, no parking fee, close parking, and hardly anyone else there. We had 2 hours of free time to look at the exhibits (rides were closed), and then there was lunch time, which we could bring our own sack lunch, and then some shows. The shows were all educational. They would give information about the animals and then ask the kids questions about what they learned at the end: "Where do the whales live?", etc. It was all finished at 1:30 which was perfect for our little group. By then, we were tired. The kids were tired. I'm sure if we would have had an all day pass, we would have forced ourselves to continue, but at 1:30 we were all done. The weather was perfect. It only started to sprinkle the minute we were leaving the gates. The kids all did so great, too. We all had such a wonderful time. I'm so used to having dh help and at one point, I had Ben in the wrap around my belly and Ca on my shoulders. Actually, more like 2 or 3 points. I heard Melissa giving her kids a speech about how it was fun, but hard work; the only things worth having are things that take hard work. I'm kind of wondering if she was really talking to all of us moms.

Zane's favorite part at Chuck E. Cheese

Does it really need an explanation?

Kids watching Shamu.

This was a baby dolphin swimming with it's momma. As they swam it looked almost as if they were attached. This is how I feel all the time. Ben was literally strapped to me for 2 days. I even learned how to nurse him with my wrap on.

Wait! What's he doing in there?

All the kids got a chance to feed the dolphins. Z didn't want to touch the fish. I don't blame him. I didn't want to either.

This is my friend Kristin. I really enjoyed watching her with her kids. She's such a great mommy.
Thanks girls for such a great time. I'm proud of all of our kids and all of us mommies.

We had a great time too. So much fun. I have been playing catch up on church stuff, house stuff, and school stuff every since.

You are quite the super mom. Too bad Kristen doesn't live here, she is really great.
