Back to School

We started with Math last week and this week, I added phonics/reading. I'm just adding 1 subject a week to get our feet wet slowly - same way I get into a pool. Hee hee.
Looks thrilled, right?

I found this website with ideas for educational activities to do with Ben during school. I printed them all out so I can have a list of ideas at hand. If I turn on the computer during school hours, I'm too tempted to fool around. Today, I had him bead a shoelace. To be honest, I didn't think he'd be able to do it, but he was. It kept him very entertained for 20 - 30 minutes. Then he started throwing the beads around. I gave him a big spoon to scoop them up with.

I'm still not sure that I'm cut out for homeschooling. The kids are learning a lot and are way ahead, but I just get frustrated with them when they aren't paying attention. They're boys and they're young - not paying attention happens a lot. It's funny because they seem to take turns being the difficult one. And they each have their unique way of doing it. I need to keep praying about it, because if this is what I'm suppose to be doing & I feel like it is, God will give me the tools and patience to do it.

Everyone has doubts at times. Remember, you just had a baby! You are tired and when you are tired, nothing is the same. What is the website with the ideas?

Meems - click on "this website" - I guess I need to change it where my links are a different color.

Been homeschooling for 3 years and it gets that ways but for us trying home and public. Home is so much easier because public you are still doing the same amount of work in homework after school (tired and not sure how the teacher wants them to do everything). It will work out and I know that you boys are doing great I read what they can do. Also one lady wrote the reason that she homeschooled so she could look at it on days when life was challenging.

Your patience will grow with time. Also. . . with sleep. haha
