This weekend, we had a small party for Ca and Ben's bdays. In our family, when you turn 3, you get a choo-choo train cake (started with me and my sisters). The boys' cousin had this Thomas the Train at their uncles house that we borrowed for the kids to ride.
We had a make your own train craft. Only a couple kids tried it. Ca's the only one that finished (probably had to do with his mom), but the rest took theirs home to complete later. I have extra cars that I think I'll make with the boys sometime this week.

Chris leveled the swingset and tied it down so the kids could play on it.
Oh, and the cake. Took a ridiculous amount of time. I tried making my own fondant. I'm not sure it was worth it, though. I actually had the idea of adding clowns after I made Z's train bday cake. I was pregnant with Ben at the time and decided I would do it for Ca's and add the clowns for Ben's first bday.

Blowing out the candles.
I felt a bit morbid cutting up this cake. It looked like a horrible mass murder had happened after we were done.

Awesome cake! You're so talented! =)
These made me smile!
That cake was amazing! We vow to make our trains this week:) Had fun today by they way.
I can imagine it was hard to cut into that cake! (emotionally. . . not that it was physically difficult. I'm sure it was soft and easy to cut into. . I just mean after all that work. Oh, nevermind.)
Not the traditional train cake. :-D
