Eventful

Event 1: Just in case you didn't get a call from my mother or a text from my sister (thanks for the bulletins, girls), today, I went into the hospital to get checked. I had been having some questionable discharge and called the nurse to see if I should be concerned. Instead of checking me out herself, she sent me to labor & delivery. I knew it was nothing, but went anyway. After getting registered, weighed, all the works of being admitted, they did a test and confirmed exactly what I thought. It's just an infection. All that and the nurse could have just checked herself. I think I'll send her the hospital bill when it comes.

Event 2: Chris bought a house. It's a triplex downtown that needs major work. He got an awesome deal. You'd be shocked if I told you how much, but that's his business so I won't. His plan with it? I have no idea. Fix it up for sure, but after that, he'll either flip it or rent out the apartments. I sure hope that he doesn't take forever fixing it up. It took him about 6 mths to build our fence and another 6 mths to put tile on our bathroom wall. There is so much on his plate right now - we've got to sell at least one of our cars, maybe two. If two, we'll need to find another one. He's got projects out the wazzoo around the house that he needs to get done, like building a trundle bed for Ca so we'll have somewhere to put the baby. He works everyday reading/researching stock, plus he's got a job and a family. Today, he spent his morning with me at the stupid hospital. I might send my nurse a bill for that, too.

Event 3: Ok, not that eventful, but last week I started my first lessons with my non-English speaking student. They just moved from Korea in Dec (I think). She has had a few lessons before, so she knows some basics. Her book is in Korean, but I can tell by the pictures what they are teaching, and she can always read it for further explanation. It's actually not going too badly. I'll put that on my list of odd teaching situations: blind child, ADHD, 90 yr old lady, and non-English speaking student. I'm sure there is more to that list.

Cool about the student. Not cool about the hospital. When Mom called me, she didn't give me all the details and I was afraid your water broke and you were going to have a premature baby. I thought you needed some prayer warriors. That nurse should have taken a look at you!

Shades of the good old days when we had a prayer gossip-oops, I mean hot line.
