Kid Decor

Ben's name on his wall was bugging me because it didn't match too well. So I went & got "E" & "N", painted them and hung them up with the "B" I already had.
better? I'm repurposing his old canvas letters aka painting over them for another project.

I thought they looked cute with the boats.
I've been working on some art for the baby's room, too. I got wooden boards from Hobby Lobby with my 40% off coupons. I painted them & covered them with scrapbooking paper from Mom's house (she has an endless surplus). I painted polyurithene over the paper to make them shiny. (By the way, it works better if you paint watered down glue over the top first & let that dry & don't put any polyurithene on white paper - tans it). I glued the owls (scrapbooking paper) to a foam board so the owls stand out from the plaque. You can see that in the pictures, but not when you're facing the owls. I haven't hung them up b/c I haven't decided where to put them.
Total cost: $5 for all 3 boards, had the paint, glue, foam board, and polyurithene, and stole paper from Mom
I made an extra owl from a leftover sock I already had. Free. The birdcage was a gift from years ago. I've it in the living room and thought - hey, that'll work in the baby's room. It got moved.
I made an owl pillow out of extra quilting fabric. I did buy more white felt ($0.25) and the rick rack ($1?)
Jenny took a few pictures for me. I did the editing so if you don't like it, don't blame her. I'm going to hang this one in the baby's room. It's very similar to my blog header but a little more welcoming. Ben looks like he's ready to fight in that other one - which may very well be the case.

Maybe that's not appropriate with our problems in Texas.
