Somebody Take the Mouse Away From Me!

For some reason, I had the hardest time with this page. I've done so many that I love, I now HATE them unless I love them. I've got to learn to settle.

Walking

This week, my couple-of-blocks-over neighbor and I went walking with the strollers. Tonight was the second time. It was so nice. And she keeps the pace up, too. The first time, I had to be honest, I thought it was going to be a casual stroll, but oh no. She's a fast-paced-need-tennies-walker. What a great workout! Thank you so much for walking with me, cg. It was an adultless day, so I really needed the fellowship. With the boys being constantly congested, I've not been able to go to the gym so the workout is wonderful. Thanks!

Plus One

Today, I was "plus one". Casen, Crys' baby, joined our clan of boys. A 2 1/2 yr old, 1 yr old, and a 3 mth old. Whew! Casen was such an easy baby, but the hardest thing was keeping Ca off him. I was scared to leave the room b/c I didn't know what Ca would do to him. Sarah, how do you do it with both him and Ellie? Casen really did only cry when he was hungry or tired. Amazing. In fact, I was giving Casen his bottle and Ca was crying (it was our previously morning nap time that we now push through - he always cries during this time). Casen finished his bottle, but was still upset. I set him down to fix him a few more oz. and picked up Ca to calm him down and Casen settled down immediately. What's this? A baby that wants to be put down? I think he was crying b/c Ca was. He just layed on the floor happy as a clam. Didn't even cry when I left the room. Babies like that DO exist. Just for his momma's info, he took a bottle in the morning, napped for 2 1/2 hrs, bottle when he got up at 11am, nap at 1pm for another 2 1/2 hrs until his daddy came to get him. Second nap feel at the same time as my boys' naps. Nice! I did my power swaddle and white noise (purifier) to help him sleep. Worked, I guess. He was a joy to watch. Anytime you need a sub, I'd be happy to watch him again.

My Climber

You should have seen little Ca at the park today. He's such a climber. He's 12 months and not yet walking. He'd crawl up the platform steps to the slide, turn around as if he was getting down off of a table, and down the slide backwards, smiling the whole way. A couple of times, by himself, because I couldn't make it over there in time. It's a lot different with two mobile kids at the park. I will not be going anytime it will possibly be busy with bigger kids. That's just too much for my two eyes to watch.

Great Paper, eh?

I had downloaded this paper a while back and just recently came across it again. I decided to throw a couple of pictures on it and be done. Well, that just wouldn't be me. I had to do some "word art". Oh well, one more page down, a kilmillion to go.

New Tile

The tile that we had ordered that I posted before had come in and looked a lot different than the sample. We were so disappointed. Chris had planned a surprise for me - having the tile done while we were out of town. He never plans surprises for me, and I know that he was looking forward to my reaction when we got back. But we didn't like the tile we had ordered, so again we went tile shopping (not an easy task with a one and two year old) and found something we liked. Thurs, Fri, and Saturday, it was layed. We are totally happy with it and like it better than our original pick. It was a rough weekend, though. It was the last few days of Chris' vacation and between yanking up floor, and him staying at the house, while I took the kids to my moms, we hardly got to see him. Not much of a vacation for me, but I guess it bets laying tile.
We had the tile layed in our kitchen, dining room, foyer, laundry room, and inside our garage door. The dining room and hall outside our garage door were previously carpet. I'm glad we have tile there now. Cleaning up after dinner with little kids won't be such a pain, now. I'm really happy with it. With the tile being in both the kitchen and dining room, it makes the kitchen feel a little bigger. And I think this makes just more sense. Plus, we won't be tracking in dirt on carpet when we walk in through the garage. I will probably have to mop everyday or every other day, though. And Ca thinks it's fun to push the dining chairs across the floors. Not so fun for the rest of us. It's LOUD. Right now, where the carpet meets the tile, the edge of the carpet is unfinished. Ca thinks it's fun to eat it. We HAVE to get it recarpeted soon.
Z's sick again. I don't think I've blogged that much about it, but Z has been sick almost the entire winter. We'll have a month or so of the kids passing crud back and forth, they'll finally get over it, and a week later, it's back. He's been sick since Friday, but today, was the first day without fever. His cough sounds awful, though.
I know this must be a pretty boring post cuz even I don't want to reread it. Thanks for listening anyway.

Lions, and Tigers, and Bears, OH MY!

Last weekend, Chris, the boys, and I met my sister and family at the A. Zoo. It was so much fun. It's a small zoo, but perfect for a morning trip. All the cousins being there made it so much more fun for Z. After the zoo and a picnic, we followed my sister back to her home (about 2 1/2 hrs away from the zoo). We stayed at her house a couple of nights. While there, we went to this local park with a huge "castle" that is a mother's nightmare, but bliss for kids. Then, while my boys (all three) were sleeping, sis and I went shopping. Oh to have a girls afternoon out with such great company. Later, we went to her gym that has a water park inside. Z was really scared to play on it at first, but dh went down the slide a couple of times and Z thought that was really funny, and before long, Z and his 2 yr old cous were going up and down the slide. Up and down, up and down, up and down, then vomit. Not my boy, but little Iz. Swallowed too much water. We were all then kicked out of the pool so they could clean up. It was close to closing time anyway. Z had a hard time getting to sleep the first night. First we put him in a room with his 4 yr old cous who insists on having music playing and the door open with hall light on. On top of that, sis was having hard time putting Iz down. Z , who's used to dark and quiet, finally got fed up and went down the hall to where Ca was sleeping and shut the door. Them are some loud cousins. It was all so much fun. We love seeing our family and Z loves being around his cousins. Thanks for having us, Camezi!

Air Show

Ok, these certainly aren't going on "twopeas", but every page doesn't have to be amazing, right? I thought certain family members who hadn't seen these pictures would like to.

Text Reads: This weekend, the air show came to San Angelo. They had airplanes doing tricks in the air andsome grounded that we got to tour. When thethunderbirds went on, Zane got really scared.Chris took him back to the car to watch from aquieter spot. “Loud and Fast” was Zane’s takeon the show. Chris bought him a toythunderbird that Zane flew and made airplane noises with the rest of the day.
Life has been really good lately. I do still have plenty to complain about, but so much more to be grateful for. I've recently switch Ca to one nap per day which means Z and him take a nap at the SAME time. Before it was always hit and miss on coinciding naps. There were a few days that they both slept the same 2 hours. It was amazing. Only hard thing is keeping Ca up all morning. He gets grouchy during lunch.

Ca had his one year doctor's appointment. He's in the 2 percentile now with his weight. He sometimes eats more than Z. His height is 40 percentile. Doc wasn't concerned about his weight, but gave me some suggestions to fatten him up. No turning the car seat around, yet.

We are getting new tile and carpet soon. Ever since we moved into this house, we've wanted to re tile the kitchen and tile the dining room. Whose idea was it to put carpet in a dining room? Turns out, setting the living room carpet on fire will give you reason enough to go ahead and get that taken care of.

The big tile is the one we've picked. They'll be 16x16. I'll let you know how it turns out. It'll be our first time to tile floor. We're prep-ing the floor right now. We'll start tiling next week.

Z is learning to read. I know it's sounds crazy, but he's been able to read a few words. CAT, DOG, BUS, DAD. It's hard to think of words that he knows, are only 3 letters, and follow the basic phonic rules.

Ca has been taking steps. He took 7 in a row on his birthday. He gets so excited about it. Cute, cute.

I posted my "2.5" pages on twopeas (a scrapper's website) and I got 9 comments. I was pretty proud of myself. I had never gotten that many before.
