Why I Scrapbook

As you've figured out, I love scrapbooking, and I just wanted to tell you why. I have a hard time expressing myself with words. I feel like with a photo, I can express so much more of what I want to say. I love the photo of my pregnant belly with Z's bare legs hanging over it as I carry him. There's something amazing to being huge pregnant when you have a toddler. A picture is worth a 1,000 words, right? Then with the colors, styles, shapes, elements, etc. I use on the page, I can express different moods. Is it fun, bright, soft, dark? I can have several pictures on a page, but lay it out in a way that says, "look at this picture, it's my favorite," just by making that picture bigger or framing it differently. I love to find quotes - "For with your birth, you gave me the greatest gift, the gift of being a mother for the very first time" - that was one of my favorites that I put on one of Z's baby pages. Through word art, I can emphasis different words in the quotes to give them a personal meaning. Scrapbooking isn't just a crafty thing I do. It's my art. It's my way of expressing myself. It'll be my gift to my children when they are older - albums of pictures of them growing up with my personal touch to them. This is why I scrapbook.

Beautiful.

Why I'm not scrapbooking:
I'm too busy homeschooling.
